What is Nutrition Therapy?

In Nutrition Therapy, there is no 'one size fits all'.

A clinical nutritional therapist is trained to understand how and why food can impact each person’s body differently.

Nutritonal Therapy is the clinical application of nutritional sciences in order to promote health. Nutritional Therapy emphasises finding the root cause of the problem & not merely addressing symptoms. Whether the goal is to cure a long-term chronic condition or simply to enhance well-being, nutritional therapy is the scientific way to go about it!

Having good nutrition should not be a everyday mission but a lifestyle.

How it Works?

Dr. Shilpa Varma takes an individual & holistic approach to your health. A detailed history is taken at your first nutritional therapy appointment to find out the root cause of your condition or disease. Along with recommendations on diet, Dr. Varma will also make suggestions about appropriate lifestyle changes that will enhance your recovery process. Each patient receives an individualized structured meal plan created with medically documented dietary needs and food preferences while asking for willingness from the patient to challenge distorted beliefs about food, try new foods, and work to develop skills needed to have lasting recovery outside of the treatment program.

A follow up usually takes place around 2-3 weeks after the initial consultation as this is the optimum amount of time to allow for an adjustment period, nevertheless this can adjust this to suit your needs and the progress made and health goals.
